Healer Regenerating

"Healer Woman Regenerating" is a 16" x 12" acrylic painting on stretched canvas. The figure and abstracted elements were drawn on paper with Micron pens and dusted with pink pastels. I used an Exacto knife to cut out parts of the paper before adhering it to the canvas, allowing the painting to peak through. It is then attached to the canvas with multiple layers of matte Modpodge which creates a clear, painterly texture over the paper elements of the piece. Additional acrylic details and highlights were added after adhering the paper to canvas.
